NX is now available for students with a much lower price. (~$135) Parts created with this edition will be tagged, and the 2D plots will have watermarks on it. Some commenters stated that only CAD functionalities are available, though.

Does the student addition of NX include CAM. If it does are there any restrictions?

There seem to be only CAD capabilities included.
i was a student at sdu in denmark and my university provided its students a 'student' license but with no restrictions like this -excuse my french- crappy edition.
if your institution uses nx ask them for a student license, they are paying lots of money for the 'whole' license. dont settle for this one.
otherwise go for a cracked version. you are not making any money out of it as a student, so 'morally' it should be okay.
Its much better to get the full version, you get technical support with the full version but not with this one!
Does anybody have experience with file association for ug ".prt" files?
Here is the scenario
1. you have already nx installed on the system
2. install solidworks
3. you'll notice all the icons for ".prt" files taken over by solidworks
Is there any way fix that problem?

Um...You can get AutoCAD FREE with a valid student email. The only difference is that you get the Watermark saying it was made in a student edition when you print things.
