Exposing NX attributes to Windows Explorer

If you'd like to see or modify your part attributes outside of NX, here's a simple trick :

-Click on Start - Run... and type the following :

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 5.0\UGII\ugpropext.dll"

-You'll see that the dll has been registered successfully.

-Log off and logon again (or just end the 'explorer.exe' task and create a new one if you're as lazy as me)

I've tried this with NX4.0.4 and NX5.0.4 successfully.

hi ux guru,

How can I export to PDF the sketch I'm working on?

The moment I switch to Sketch, this 'export to PDF' function disappeared.

thx.

You could put your sketch on a layer, and create a view that only has that layer as visible. For dimensions, you can use insert-feature-parameters to transfer the sketching dimensions into drafting.

Then you can use PDF functionality.

Or, because the 'print...' function is not disabled in drafting, you can install a 3rd party PDF printer/utility and use that..

hi, do you know how creat non-master file on NX Open?

As someone else pointed out on the UG BBS, the command should be "regsvr32" instead of "regsrv32".

Thanks for the great tip!

Hi Hakan,

It seems there is no ugpropext.dll in NX6. Is there any other way for NX6?

Thanks,

UGS deletet this from doc and ugii because it is unsupported. hint: the dll from NX5 still works with NX6

Hi,
With NX504-06, 64Bit on Windows the dll successfully registers, but doesn't change the part properties at all. I did use the dll found within that NX version's directory structure. Do you know any other 64Bit users that have that dll working?

Thanks for the great tips.
